Introduction
Hi, I am Maureen. I am a wife, a mother, and a practicing, licensed Physical Therapist (PT). In my thirty years of experience as a PT I have treated many people who have suffered from aches and pains due to improperly designed work-spaces. In this blog, I will give you tips about properly ergonomically designing your office space, how to improve your posture, and exercises to stretch and strengthen your muscles all with the goal of making you more comfortable and healthy at work.
A little bit about me…
I first became interested in the medical field when my mother became a registered nurse at the age of 50, an accomplishment she managed to achieve after raising two little girls on her own after my father died at the age of 42. I knew I wanted to be in the medical field and struggled for several years to find my “niche”. I found it while pursuing an associate degree in Psychology. A co-worker and friend of my mother introduced me to a Physical Therapist and after talking to her and observing her at work I was hooked. I obtained my Psychology Associate’s Degree and then went on to a Physical Therapy program, graduating with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in 1989.
